Here’s a quick look at what we have for the iPad apps thus far.
The iPads serve as entry points into the deeper story of socialife, but are posed as promotional tools by the company.
Currently, we have two pages – a “home” page and a “game” page. The home page has space for a youtube video, which is hard-coded into the app, so you can’t change it from within the app, only in the code. It also has additional text space and space for a picture, and can basically be whatever we want/need it to be.
The “game” is a mini-game in which you collect followers to get happier. As you collect followers, your facial expressions change from sad to happy, while your friend changes from happy to sad, and a message at the bottom lets you know that you’re still too sad, you’re almost there, and then that “you’ve won! Nice??”. If the user continues to collect followers, this bottom message turns into a secret message from one of the characters, giving them further instructions. The current placeholder instructions are to enter a coupon code in the website so the character can “show you what they’re REALLY selling”, but these instructions can be anything we want them to be.
Visually, the app is lacking right now – there are some formatting things I don’t want to address until we have a better idea of what content the pages will actually have, and the game is formatted for 12″ iPad Pros, which I believe are the iPad’s we’ll be using. Formatting, however, is easily changed.
Another visual aspect that needs addressed is the graphics in general. I’m currently using placeholder graphics until we create better ones, but once we have those, it will also be simple to change over.
